Grow New Plants from Stem or Leaf Cuttings Date: Wednesday April 20, 2022 Time: 10 am to 12 pm Teacher: Angela Reid, Master Gardener Volunteer COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students will learn where and how to cut Herbs and vegetables to create new plants. Find out sources for new plant possibilities and when is the best time. Many herbs are easy to grow in a glass of water. These might include Oregano, Basil varieties, Tarragon, Thyme and many more. Look for Herb Packets” in the refrigerated produce section. CLASS ACTIVITIES: Learn how and why you can root plants in water or soilless medium. Many plants do not “come true” from seed or are difficult to germinate, but there are plants that can grow in water very easily. The resulting new plants will be true to the parent plant because they are clones made from its plant material.
