Service Description
This is a four-week hands-on preservation course that involves both water bath and pressure canning. The course will focus on safe canning practices including sterilization, how to properly fill jars, how to ensure a proper seal, and how to process using both methods. Everyone will go home each week with a jar of what is made in class. We also always taste what is made so you have an idea of what to expect. Please bring a small box to transport your jar home in. Teachers: Janet and Nancy Week 1 – Water Bath Canning - Salsa Saturday June 3, 2023 10:30 am to 2:30 pm In this class you will learn how to make salsa from scratch! Week 2 – Pressure Canning - Garlic Herbed Potatoes Saturday June 10, 2023 10:30 am to 2:30 pm In this class you will learn how to can Garlic Herbed Potatoes! Week 3 – Water Bath Canning - Chow Chow Relish Saturday June 17, 2023 10:30 am to 2:30 pm In this recipe you will learn how to make and can this old Southern favorite. Chow Chow relish is a great topping for hot dogs, burgers, turkey sandwiches, all kinds of great things Week 4 – Pressure Canning Recipes - Beef Tips in Gravy Saturday June 24, 2023 10:30 am to 2:30 pm In this class you will learn how to pressure can Beef Tips in Gravy! All classes are non-refundable. Total cost for the course is $150. Please bring a small box each week to take your jar home in.
